At The Creative Art Space for Kids Foundation (CASK), we believe every child deserves the chance to discover their creative spark. Our visual arts center opens the door to imagination by giving kids the opportunity to work hands-on with real artists in a true studio environment. 🎨 Here, children don’t just learn art—they explore, experiment, and grow into confident creators. But we can’t do it alone. The heart of CASK is powered by people like you—individuals and community members who believe in the power of creativity.

CASK believes that by sharing the gift of creativity with our children and giving them the outlet of self expression, we are setting the stage for the future of not only our community, but our society and humanity at large. We are all born creative, but if we neglect to develop and strengthen these skills, our creativity becomes inhibited. By assisting and encouraging a child’s creativity, you set the stage for endless opportunities for that child’s imagination. A healthy imagination not only creates a resourceful and productive individual, but it also builds self-esteem, which is an important tool that will be used for the rest of that child’s life. When a child creates a work of art, they are not just drawing a picture, they are also creating aspects of self-importance, individuality and engaging in self-expression.
Over the years, Creative Art Space for Kids and its founder, Carlo Thertus, have been widely recognized by the media for their inspiring contribution to art, culture, and community. From features in respected newspapers such as Newsday, New York times, Long Island Herald and The Haitian Times to receiving honors from the New York State Assembly, our journey has been highlighted as a celebration of creativity, diversity, and service.
These stories not only reflect the impact of art on young minds but also showcase how our mission of bridging cultures through creativity continues to inspire children and families.
From heartfelt newspaper editorials to community recognitions, the spotlight has often been on the passion behind our mission: helping children express themselves and discover the joy of creativity.
Through every article and recognition, one message shines through clearly: art has the power to unite, educate, and transform lives.
